We are a couple of Lancastrians who finally took the "leap" and moved to Melbourne, Australia in early 2003, giving up our home security, job security and family security.
Why?...You may ask...
Well the simple answer was, we wanted a new challenge, and boy did we get one!
When we arrived in Melbourne we had no friends, no contacts, no home and no school for our boys to attend. We were complete novices, country bumpkins from a small mill town in Lancashire, finding our way in the big cosmopolitain city of Melbourne.
Fast forward now to the present time...
Jill...
Jill is the manager of Maranoa Close Retirement Village in Balwyn. We live in the "Managers's Residence", a small two bedroomed flat within the village.
Jill is a committee member of Waverley Camera Club, and an active member of Melbourne Camera Club. We have lots of good friends who we see regularly. In particular, when we first arrived in Melbourne we befriended Chris and Breed, and we still see them both (although separately) regularly.
Jill is a keen photographer, using her Canon 40D to create stunning landscape and nature images.
When not working at the retirement village or attending various camera club functions, Jill spends her time out with friends, taking photographs, attending concerts, walking, eating out and occasionaly exercising!
Pete...
Pete is the manager of Directories OnLine, an internet marketing business based in Caulfield.
Like Jill, Pete is a committee member of Waverley Camera Club, and an active member of Melbourne Camera Club. Pete shares the same group of friends as Jill and is equally a keen photographer, using his Canon 5D mark2 to create any image that takes his fancy!
When not working or attending various camera club functions, like Jill, Pete spends her time out with friends, taking photographs, attending concerts, walking and eating out, Unlijke Jill, Pete is a keen exerciser, regularly swimming and playing tennis.
Pete is also a keen videographer and now uses his canon 5D mark 2 to take High Defintion video footage of the fantastic Australian scenery.
Being an Englishman abroad, Pete is still keen on English soccer, constantly following the fortunes of his two favourite teams, Burnley FC and Bolton Wanderers FC.
